A/Prof. Nikki Bart is a heart failure and heart transplant cardiologist at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.
She studied medicine at the University of New South Wales, where she graduated with Honours. For her doctoral work she undertook studies to investigate the effects of iron on the cardiopulmonary system. She was awarded a DPhil from the University of Oxford which was funded by a prestigious Sir John Monash Scholarship. While there is also practiced at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. She is passionate about teaching and has won teaching awards from both Oxford University and the University of New South Wales.
Dr Bart completed her cardiology training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, and a Fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging including cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and CT coronary angiography.
A/Prof. Bart is the lead of the Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy group at St Vincent’s Hospital/Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute where she leads a clinical and research program into sarcoidosis and amyloidosis.
